The Need: RTT offers services at two locations - our farm in Windham and at a smaller satellite program at Pineland Farms Equestrian Center (PFEC) in New Gloucester. (A large portion of RTT’s operations at Pineland are generously underwritten by the Libra Foundation.)

The majority of our clients are served at the RTT Farm in Windham. The RTT Board of Directors decided to respond to the growing demand for our services and request for year round therapeutic riding programs by improving and expanding our primary facility in Windham. The focus of our $1.6 million Campaign is to construct a year round facility at the RTT Farm in Windham. The new facility will enable RTT to:

• Provide year-round services to our clients and increase the total number of clients served.
• Improve client outcomes through increased consistency of programming.

• Increase safety for our clients by providing a consistent riding environment free from the distractions and inconsistent weather conditions of an outdoor arena.
• Improve satisfaction and retention of riders, volunteers and staff.
• Increase financial stability of the organization through year-round program income and a decrease in lost revenue from weather cancellations.
• Improve ability of RTT to host ongoing clinics/educational offerings and events and the ability to offer space to other local non-profit groups including 4-H, Girl Scouts, Key Clubs etc.

With the help of our friends and donors, RTT broke ground in November, 2004 on Phase One of our new facility and completed construction in May 2005. We will begin construction on Phase Two of our facility in the Spring of 2007. We hope you’ll come see what we’re building and support our efforts!
