RTT is proud to have a great herd of horses who make our programs possible. They range in height from 10 hands to 16.2 hands at their withers (40” to 66”) and span from 7 to 20+ in age.
Just like people, each of our horses has their own personality. It is our job to pair our riders and horses, so that they can work off of each others’ strengths.
Horses have been our companions for centuries. For many of us, horses color our lives, filling our imaginations and our dreams. They are mysterious and empowering and connect us with nature. Our riders feel the joy, excitement, fun and freedom that comes from working with and knowing horses. Riders benefit physically from the rhythmic motion of the horses, mentally from the concentration involved in riding and emotionally from the connection between horses and people that soothes the heart and brings peace. Horses can indeed heal the mind, body and spirit. Support our horses through adopting or donating!

Firefly
Firefly is a 1992 13.1-hand Newfoundland Pony gelding. Firefly is our most
steady and reliable pony - here is a poem one of his riders wrote about him!
"Clacking of hooves fill the barn, his long mane touches my skin. Big body
so soft to my touch.
Black as night skies without a moon. His brown eyes twinkle like stars
He becomes my strong legs moving so relaxed floating through heaven."

Our Wonderful Herd of Horses
Sudsy
Sudsy is our Belgian draft horse, and our tallest (and widest!) mount. He
came to RTT in the fall of 2000. He was purchased through funds raised
through the “horse fund” portion of our Live Auction held each November.
Therapeutic riding was new to him, but he has become a wonderful asset to
our program.

Teddy
truly has a “pony” personality. He loves people and is our steadiest trail
horse—unfazed by deer, grouse, and other unexpected visitors on the trail.
Teddy is used extensively in our hippotherapy program due to his size and
movement.

Tinkerbell
Tink joined RTT in the fall of 1999. Her personality is certainly
disproportionate to her size! She loves people and her height (or lack
thereof) puts many of our younger riders at ease.

Daisy & Poki
spring 2006. Daisy is free leased from Cindy Leavitt and Poki was donated
to RTT by the Platz family of Auburn. Daisy and Poki have been pasture
mates for most of their lives and are great ambassadors at the farm. In
addition, Poki has a cart and harness and both have been known to be
adorned with reindeer horns during the holidays

significant history with dressage.
