Volunteers Are the Heart of Our Program
RTT depends on our volunteers in many ways and could not provide
lessons without them. New volunteer training sessions are scheduled
through  our Volunteer Coordinator, if you are interested in volunteering,
please fill out a
REGISTRATION FORM and send it in!

Horse Leaders and Side Walkers
Riders in our therapeutic riding program have specific goals that they work on during
their sessions. These goals may include improvements in their balance, posture,
muscle tone, speech, social skills and self-esteem. NARHA certified instructors lead
the lessons and trained volunteers are needed to assist each rider by leading the
rider's horse (horse leader) and/or walking next to the rider (side walker) throughout
the lesson.

Barn Assistant
Our barn and equine managers works hard every day to keep our horses fed,
watered and exercised. The horses' stalls are cleaned every morning. The horses'
turn-out areas or paddocks are also cleaned regularly when temperatures above
freezing permit it. The Barn Manager trains volunteers as barn Assistants to help
with barn chores in the mornings during the week. Daily chores are sometimes
affected by weather but include stall mucking, water-bucket cleaning, throwing down
hay from the hayloft and sweeping the barn aisle.

Office Assistant
RTT likes to stay in contact with our riders and our volunteers and we do a number
of mailings throughout the year. We often need an office volunteers to help us with
mailings and flyers. If you like to work with computers, you can help us with data
input and form design. We will gladly provide you with on the job training for any
work you do in our office.
Strengthening Our Community Through The Healing Power of Horses
RTT provides on going education and clinics for our volunteers as often as possible.
